Introduction

As a Board Certified Urologist who is Fellowship trained in Genitourinary Reconstruction and Trauma, Dr. E. Charles Osterberg specializes in reconstructive urology, genitourinary trauma, prosthetics, and robotic surgery. Based in Austin, Texas, he treats a wide range of conditions, including urethral strictures, erectile dysfunction, male stress incontinence, and Peyronie’s disease. Having trained with the early pioneers of robotic surgery, Dr. Osterberg utilizes robotic surgery for complex urologic reconstruction.

Urethral Stricture

The urethra's main job is to empty urine from the bladder. When scar tissue forms from swelling, injury, or infection, this scar can block the flow of urine out of the bladder leading to slow stream, infections, or kidney failure.

Peyronie’s Disease

Peyronie’s disease is an inflammatory, benign condition of the penis which causes curvature, bending, or shortening caused by a plaque within and/or over the erectile bodies.

Enlarged Prostate: BPH

Enlarged prostate is a condition that affects the majority of men over 65 years. It causes difficulty urinating, nighttime urination, frequency and urgency. Minimally invasive treatment with UroLift can improve symptoms.

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient enough to have satisfying sexual intercourse. It is one of the most commonly untreated medical disorders in the United States.

Robotic Surgery & Single PORT Reconstruction

Dr. Osterberg has received extensive training in robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery and utilizes the DaVinci Robot to perform reconstructive operations which provide less pain and quicker recovery time.

TRANSITIONAL UROLOGY

Children born with congenital urologic conditions such as spina bifida or hypospadias need an adult urologist as they transition to adulthood. Dr. Osterberg and colleagues at Children’s’ Urology will work together to help you.

Male Stress Incontinence

Stress incontinence is leakage of urine that results from cough or laughter. It commonly affects men after prior surgery such as prostate removal.

Urinary Fistula

A urinary fistula is a connection between your bladder or urethra to an unwanted location like your intestines. The develops as a result from prior surgery or radiation and can cause recurrent infections or leakage of urine. A urinary fistula is a challenging problem to treat.
